Blackwork

I would like to draw your attention to a blog from Atlantian fiber-geek Ianthe d'Averoigne.  She has published a compendium of blackwork patterns that sent me drooling yesterday!

This is an AMAZING resource for anyone who likes blackwork.  In fact, as soon as I finish my current project, I have ideas swimming around for blackwork coifs...

  1. They're great, aren't they! The lady has been working on them for years. So generous to put them on-line for free!
The SCA Historical Embroidery groups have all been talking about it.

  2. Actually, it's "Carolingian Fiber-Geek Ianthé." Lived down in Atlantia briefly and promised to name a book after the region for friendships made there, but I remain firmly in the grip of Carolingia Status Mentis Est. My first and my forthcoming books are both named after the Boston area group.

In any case, please enjoy the patterns! I'd love to see any works that use them.
